Crossroads Baptist Church's website has been key to reaching Tracy, CA for Christ. Every advertisement we use clearly contains the website. The website has directed several new families to Crossroads. Probably 75 % of our visitors come because they have searched the internet for a church.
When visitors walk through the door they already know what to expect. They have seen what our facility looks like, know who will be caring for their children, and know what we believe. It has actually been a bit un-nerving to have 1st time visitors call us by name because they have read our bios on the website. As people in Tracy get into the word, they are being drawn out of liberal churches. They go to the internet searching for a church. Most church websites contain very generic, if any, doctrinal statements. Ours is very detailed. That has brought several new families to Crossroads. People do not want to visit a different church each Sunday for months, and get stuck in services that make them uncomfortable. They want to do their "shopping" online. The quality website that Chris produces is invaluable to our ministry. One example is Vacation Bible School: We used the website to pre-register children for VBS. Parents were much more comfortable with our church, after visiting the website. They really appreciated the opportunity to fill out the form ahead of time, and avoid long registration lines.
