Ministry Highlights:

After completing the DVD marriage series, “Developing Closeness on the Journey of a Lifetime” by Dr. Peck, there was an instant request from the BCP Deaf Ministry to have this resource translated for the Deaf community. The Deaf ministry provided an interpreter and we spent two days recording all the sessions in sign language using our new video/photo studio.    These resources will help the Deaf community with a quality resource to encourage couples. There currently are not many resources like this for the growing Deaf ministry.

Another project we have been working on is helping BCP with a promotional video. This is designed to share BCP’s ministry and vision. We asked a BCP church planter, Eric Wilmeth from Bennington, NE to be the “face” and voice on the video.

Each March and September BCP has a council meeting to conduct business and give direction to BCP’s ministry. During the same time, techPartner conducts a board meeting to save on travel for some of the men and to report techPartner’s ministry to the BCP Council. techPartner is undergoing formulation of its non-profit status, and one of the requirements is to form a board of directors. We have asked three men to join techPartner’s board of directors.

One more event that I had the opportunity to be involved in this month was the New York State Fellowship Youth Seminars. One of these seminars is held at my supporting church, First Baptist of Horseheads, NY.  They continue to ask me to come back and help run all the technology stuff for this seminar. Setting up and running all the tech stuff is fun, but seeing God work in lives is even better!  There were over 470 in attendance. One creative use of technology that we used this year is enabling the teens to text in questions to my Google voice number. We received over 20 different questions, and the speaker used the questions to help reinforce his message. We also are taking the time to respond to each one that had a question with an answer from the Bible. The teens really asked some great questions, and this avenue enabled them to ask in confidence. It was neat to see God working in lives that weekend and how technology can be used to enhance ministry.
